About the AquaBoom Scholarship Trust
The AquaBoom Scholarship Trust is a 501 (c)3 organization that awards an annual $5,000 scholarship to the winner of the Miss AquaBoom Scholarship Pageant.
Since 1996, the Trust has proudly given almost $85,000 to 29 young ladies in our area who are in pursuit of higher education. These funds are obtained through sponsorships of the Annual AquaBoom Fourth of July Festival (a separate organization) and through community giving.
Here is what some of our past winners have to say:
RACHEAL FIEST BRYANT, 2000 "For me, the Aqua Boom scholarship was more than a financial investment. The scholarship was a reminder that my community was invested in my future and believed in me. Aqua Boom is a reminder to our youth that we believe in them, back them, and that we will never stop cheering them on. I’m proud to now work in the Kingsland community, and will be forever grateful for the empowerment I received, as it led me to become the woman and mother I am today."
KRISSI RIEWE, 2001 “The scholarship I received was such a wonderful blessing, it helped me realize that attending college could be possible. With the scholarship monies I was able to see that I could find a way to advance my education. Looking back, I also recognize that it was very important support to the start of my career journey, because not only did I earn my BFA in Fashion Design but later I returned to college to earn a MFA and become a college professor. I am very grateful and proud to have been Miss AquaBoom and the experience blessed me not only with the scholarship but also confidence to lead, speak and represent myself with poise.”
HUNTER HOLMES, 2015 “The scholarship helped with my confidence and encouragement! I was excited when I started applying to schools knowing that I had already earned one scholarship and that made me eager to try to apply and earn more academic ones. I was also proud to have earned the scholarship because I felt the amount was substantial and would definitely help me with my school expenses – which it did! I’m extremely grateful for all of the donors who provide funds for these scholarships each year!”
SHEYENNE KNOX, 2014 “I am so thankful for the opportunity to have been able to participate in the AquaBoom Pageant and receiving the scholarship. That scholarship allowed me to head off to college with less stress and give me more financial stability as I made that big shift in my life. It gave me options with schooling and allowed me to pursue my dream of becoming a nurse!”
Please consider making a tax-deductible contribution to help us continue to fund this worthy endeavor.
